Story behind this placard: We made these for a Seattle propeller shop who, every summer gets an anxious marine operator call that goes like this: “We’re up north and hit a rock. Can you send replacement parts by seaplane?” Reply: “Yes; what do you need?” Answer: “New propeller, shaft, coupling, and gearbox…just like the one you built for us twenty years ago!” Twenty years ago? The shop’s product served well, but….

Inscribe this placard with your essential tail shaft data: Vessel Name, Shaft diameter / length / bearing OD, Propeller Pitch / Diameter / Hand, Gearbox Model / Ratio, Coupling Bolt Size / Circle, Order Number, Shop Name. Cast in soft brass for easy stamping. You may wish you had one!
